FRONT OF HOUSE/BOX OFFICE STAFF
Spellbound Theatre, New York’s award-winning theater for children ages 0-5, is hiring front of house/box office staff for our 2017-18 season of monthly pop-up performances at the Old Stone House. We are seeking an organized, responsible, and kind individual to be the face of Spellbound for families attending our public performances. Experience and comfort with early childhood audiences is essential. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and professional demeanor, and experience in theater front-of-house, box office, or comparable experience working in a fast-paced customer service position. Duties will include ticket sales, greeting families, and interacting with small children and their families in a creative environment, as well as coordinating with the event manager regarding pre-show activities in the lobby area. This staff position will also support Spellbound’s outreach work through our Family Art Day program. Availability is 1-2 weekend mornings per month, as well as a monthly planning meeting. Position begins early-September, and all performance dates will be confirmed for the season before the beginning of the position, although additional outreach events will be scheduled on an ongoing basis. Pay is hourly at a competitive rate.

Spellbound Theatre is seeking a school-year 2017-18 Administrative Intern to assist with the planning and implementation of our public and in-school early childhood classes, Free Family Art Day program, and public performances. Intern will work closely with the Artistic Director, Outreach Coordinator, and Education Manager to support high-quality public programming for families and in-school residencies. An ideal candidate will be extremely organized, reliable, able to work in a self-directed environment, and be passionate about arts education for young children. Intern will meet weekly with Spellbound staff, attend daytime classes and/or weekend events, and work independently on writing and research projects. This internship includes working with Spellbound Theatre's staff in order to learn about best practices in arts education and theater production for early years. All internships are unpaid.
