Lullaby Land 2024: Devising Phase Three

Spellbound Theatre blends physical movement, puppetry, live music, and lullabies from around the globe to create a dream-world like no other. Lullaby Land is a fantastical journey that explores the fear of the unknown and reveals how celebrating our differences makes the world brighter, more vibrant, and more connected.
Three performers--each from a different corner of the world—embark on a transformative adventure through rivers, forests, and volcanoes. Along the way, they reshape each place they encounter through song and lullaby, while being reshaped themselves by the lands they cross and the companions they meet. Language and music are at the heart of this journey. The performers weave together words and melodies in multiple languages, reminding us that lullabies are a universal form of care and connection. The music of each language becomes a bridge across cultures, while the use of diverse languages shows children that communication can be playful, beautiful, and deeply human—even when words are unfamiliar.
At a time when cultural differences are too often cast as dangerous or undesirable, Lullaby Land is an invitation to celebrate a world where "different" and “other” is part of the fabric of who we are and what makes the world brighter and more meaningful. Made specifically for three to six year olds and their caregivers/families.
