​Lullaby Land 2024: Devising Phase Two

​In spring 2024, the original team reconvened at University Settlement in Manhattan. Spellbound collaborated with artist Dorothy James, to create innovative puppets that added an element of adventure, and allowed children to explore new characters as puppeteers. Multi-talented musician Aviva Jaye contributed harp and keyboard soundscapes, inspiring an original song. The team developed the Lullaby Land narrative, an adventure through sleep, dreams, and reflection, using song, movement, and storytelling. in Swedish, Spanish, Ilocano, and Tagalog. In Phase Two, a vibrant aesthetic that emphasizes a rich cultural and linguistic diversity has become integral to the show.
