Welcome to The Naughty Penguin Sensory Friendly Resource Page

A sensory friendly Spellbound show means:
  • All are welcome including neurodiverse and neurotypical children and adults

  • There will be sensory friendly features like 

  • A chill out zone
    • A separate area where you can hang out if you need a break from the craft activity or the performance. You can always come back to the craft or the performance at any time.
  • Sensory toys
    • There will be sensory toys and fidgets including headphones in the chill out zone and in the performance area.
  • A visual guide of the performance
    • Our visual guide shows what you can expect to see, hear, and do at the event:The Naughty Penguin - Visual Guide - Spellbound Theatre (BAX)
    • There will also be printed copies of the visual guide at the event. 
  • A moment to talk through the show before we begin    
    • Before the performance starts we will talk through the show and introduce the puppets.

  • We invite our audience to experience the show however they feel comfortable. That could mean standing, sitting, moving around or making sounds while watching.

  • There will be clear instructions to guide the audience about:

  • Where the audience should be to experience the show. Staying in this area will help keep the audience and the performers safe. 

When the performers would like the audience to actively participate in the performance (this is optional!)
