Anywhere with Catbear

Inspired by events depicted in our original pop-up show, Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, Please, our favorite puppet, Catbear, takes a visit to one of our artists to come up with ideas for playing and staying creative. This series helped little ones and their caregivers figure out what we could do safely while we were stuck inside! Check out Catbear's adventures with teaching artists far and wide! 

Season 1 Episode 1: At Home with Emily

Emily and Catbear try to find ways to fill the day while stuck at home.

Season 2 Episode 1: Spinning Records with Krystal

Catbear is back with brand new adventures! Today Krystal takes Catbear to a music store to pick out a record and then they have a dance party at home.​​

Episode 2: At Home with Khalia

Catbear visits Khalia in California and they discover a secret city inside her kitchen. 

Episode 3: At Home with Robert

Robert and Catbear prepare a five-star meal at an up and coming local restaurant. 

Episode 4: At Home with Blanca

Blanca and Catbear discover a wonderful surprise when they give a little water, sunlight, and love to a potted lettuce.

Episode 5: At Home with Marisol

Marisol can't wait for Catbear to visit her in Philadelphia after receiving postcards from Catbear's travels. 

Episode 6: Protest and Action with Catbear

Catbear visits Rebecca after going to a protest for Black Lives Matter and is feeling a lot of emotions. Together they call Catbear's friends to see what they're doing to stay active and find comfort this week. 

Episode 7: At Home with Krystal

Krystal and Catbear celebrate Black Music Month by jamming to some old favorites and hearing from some of Catbear’s friends making music today.

Episode 8: At Home with Asha

Asha and Catbear are wondering how to celebrate Juneteenth this year. Catbear researches different ways Black Americans honor this important holiday and then they take a walk to Brooklyn’s very own Weeksville Heritage Center. 

Episode 9: At Home with Emily

Catbear has made it back to see Emily just in time to celebrate Pride! Their visit to the historic Stonewall Inn brings up a mix of feelings and they wonder how to hold space for all their joy, sadness, anger, and pride.
This episode’s colorful social-emotional themes were inspired by The Color Monster: A Story About Emotions by Anna Llenas, and “The Feeling Wheel” developed by Dr. Gloria Willcox.

Episode 10: At Home with Jody​

After weeks of listening, learning, and advocacy, Catbear makes time to rest up with Jody. Baking cookies together helps warm their hearts as they think of their family far away. ​

Episode 11: At Home with Sarah

Catbear and Sarah make plans for a fun day when they receive a surprise call from their friend PJ, and they remember that even though Catbears can’t get COVID they're still an example of safety. They think of all the ways Catbear can stay safe and be fashionable so they can have fun! ​

SEASON 2

Episode 2: Scavenger Hunt with PJ

Catbear helps PJ solve clues to an epic scavenger hunt that brings them all the way to Yankee Stadium! 

Episode 3: Catbear Meets Sigrid the Dog

Catbear learns how to play with Sigrid the dog without being afraid. Becki brings them both to the park to meet  their friend Emily and play together! 

Episode 4: Catbear Goes on a Hike with Marisol

Catbear visits Marisol in Philadelphia, where there’s a lot of beautiful parks and greenery! Marisol takes Catbear on a hike to see, hear and feel different plants, animals, and scenery in Wissahickon Valley Park. 

Episode 6: Read All About It With Robert

For one last adventure this summer, Catbear journeys to Robert's apartment to pay him a visit! Catbear shares treasures from all of their adventures in the last few weeks, and Robert thinks of a creative way to document those stories.

Episode 5: Catbear Goes to the Beach with Ana

​Catbear visits Ana, and it’s too hot outside! They try a bunch of different ways to stay cool during the heatwave until they realize that going to the beach is the best way to cool off.
