Shakespeare's Stars

Picture

Mark your calendars! Shakespeare's Stars will be presented by The New Victory Theatre May 11 - May 21. Click the photo above for tickets!

"Shakespeare's Stars" is a new work in development by Valerie Clayman Pye and Spellbound Theatre. This multi-sensory, multi-disciplinary performance installation creates a dreamy world of poetry, music, and magic to explore the infinite and the intimate, just for children ages 0-3 and their caregivers. Bond together under the stars to the sounds of Shakespeare's poetry, twinkling music, and innovative performances about fate, family, and the celestial realm.

Created by Lauren Jost, Valerie Pye and the Spellbound Ensemble

Music by Emilie Weibel

Animation by Christine Dehne

Set Design by Valerie Reid

We are elated to announce that Spellbound Theatre and Valerie Reid are recipients of the Edith Lutyens and Norman Bel Geddes Design Enhancement Fund. We are awarded $5,200 to put towards enhancing our vision of this production.

We have lofty dreams for the production’s key set elements. We want this theater experience to go from magical to momentous for New York’s youngest audiences - all while creating a more sustainable, reusable set that could be used in future touring productions. Thanks to this grant, we are on our way to making these visions a reality!

To ensure 100% of our goals turn into reality, we need your help. The generous allocation from the Geddes Design Fund only meets half our production budget.

Match these grant funds today. It will be an invaluable gift to Spellbound.
